Research Associate - Portsmouth, NH
We are looking to add a Research Associate to our Research Team.
Initially this position will support the manager due diligence and monitoring processes, including data retrieval, analysis, and written
commentary. Overtime, the right candidate for this position will have the potential to take on increasing levels of responsibility and
manager/strategy coverage.
Responsibilities
- Act as a key resource in all aspects of the research process
- Participate in the manager due diligence process through performance analysis, universe screens, writing meeting notes, authoring reports, and other related activities at the direction of the lead Research Analysts
- Assist in the manager monitoring process, reviewing performance, portfolio characteristics, taking part in calls with managers, and writing summaries of the analysis for internal and external audiences
- Take on lead responsibility on initial manager review requests, under the direction of lead analysts
- Assist in authoring monthly and quarterly market commentaries
- Provide general research and administrative support to senior professionals, including special projects
- Prepare reports, presentations, and various other documents for clients
- Continually identify ways to further leverage our proprietary and third party databases to improve efficiencies and output
- Regularly review relevant trade journals to identify industry trends and/or material manager events
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Finance or similar field required
- Three plus years of financial industry experience
- Must be a team player with effective time management skills and the ability to multi-task
- Strong written communication skills, as well as the ability and willingness to articulate and defend recommendations verbally
- Experience using Bloomberg, eVestment, and/or Morningstar
- Aptitude with Microsoft Office products including Excel and PowerPoint
- Progress towards the CFA designation would be considered a plus
- Bachelors degree in Finance or similar field required

Investment Analyst-Portsmouth, NH or Boston, MA
The primary responsibility of the Investment Analyst is to be involved in all quantitative and qualitative aspects of the client relationship.
This high profile position is integral to the success of the client relationship. The Investment Analyst must understand, demonstrate, and apply investment concepts and principles to a broad spectrum of client portfolios.
Investment Analysts work with a variety of our clients, including Endowments and Foundations, High Net Worth Individuals, and Pension Plans.
Responsibilities
- Deliverables include monthly and quarterly client reports
- Analyze client structures, facilitate transitions, asset allocation modeling, spending forecasts, and writing manager commentary
- Work in a team environment with analysts and senior investment professionals
- Maintain client relationships and interact with investment managers
- Regularly review relevant trade journals to stay current with economic and business developments that may impact investment decisions
- Prepare ad hoc reports and presentations for clients and principals of the firm
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Finance or business related field; MBA degree and/or Chartered Financial Analyst designation (or progress toward these credentials) preferred
- 3 to 5 years of investment industry experience
- Experience with performance measurement and accounting
- Prior experience utilizing Encorr Ibbotson software or a related mean variance optimizer preferred
- Understanding of stochastic (monte carlo) modeling desired
- Attention to detail, strict adherence to deadlines, and advanced problem-solving skills
- Must be a team player with effective time management skills and the ability to multi-task
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Advanced Excel skills, specifically the ability to generate custom models, and experience with Microsoft Office products
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
