Research Analyst Absolute Return

The primary responsibility of the Research Analyst is to conduct investment manager research focusing on the Absolute Return space as well as performing broader investment industry research.
Responsibilities
Lead the research process within the Absolute Return asset class,
Meet with hedge fund managers and be responsible for conveying meeting summaries and recommendations to PB&A and our clients through verbal and written communication
Direct the manager selection process through the coordination and review of due diligence materials,
Present research and manager recommendations to the investment committee
Perform special studies that may include research on various topics such as current investment themes, spending analysis, asset/liability matching, performance attribution, and asset allocation modeling
Prepare and present market commentary, reports, presentations, and various other documents for clients
Assist in the quarterly client reporting process through the compilation of market and manager performance commentary
Regularly review relevant trade journals to identify industry trends and/or material events
Work as part of a team with other senior investment professionals
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Finance or business related field; Advanced degree and/or CFA designation (or progress toward these credentials) preferred
7+ years of investment industry experience
Previous experience performing due diligence on investment managers
Experience with hedge fund strategies and derivative securities preferred
Must be a team player with effective time management skills and the ability to multi-task
Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as analytical aptitude, are strongly preferred

Office Manager - Boston Office

Position is responsible for the direct day to day operation of the Boston office.
Primary Responsibilities
Manage Front Desk, greet clients, guests and answer incoming phone calls.
Coordinate all meetings, setting up conference calls, booking conference rooms, ordering food, and the set up and break down before and after each meeting.
Manage office and kitchen supplies. Take inventory and order as needed.
Provide full administrative support as requested.
Manage vendor and facility relationships.
Make travel arrangements and prepare itineraries and expense reports.
Ensure office equipment is properly taken care of. Place services calls for maintenance as needed.
Provide computer support services as requested. Work closely with IT to help implement solutions as needed.
Effectively interact with clients and staff at all levels of the organization.
Support the Consultants and Research Analysts on an ad hoc basis with data retrieval, manipulation and presentation.

Requirements:
Candidate must have a minimum of five years office management experience in a professional environment; the ability to multi-task and maintain organization in a fast paced, changing environment.
Ability to work independently, manage time and meet deadlines.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, problem solving and decision making skills.
Excellent computer skills, including MS Word, strong Excel, Access and Lotus Notes.

Operations Analyst - Operations Team

Basic Purpose:
Using judgment and discretion facilitate and support the day to day operational activity for our clients and client service team. Maintain a high level of PB&A client satisfaction by completing asset transitions in a timely and accurate manner. Establish consistent policies and procedures across the Operations Team.
Primary Responsibilities
Manage all the phases of client initiated capital movements including: communicating and coordinating with custodial banks, asset managers and appropriate PB&A teams; drafting template letters and other communication for clients; completing subscription documents; and ensuring accurate completion of the transition plan within the established timeframe.
Assist with the creation of processes, procedures and internal controls to manage the risk associated with client initiated capital movements and other client activity. Introduce PB&A best practices into all phases of client transitions.
Foster an environment that allows PB&A to react calmly, quickly and accurately to firm initiatives that require our clients to execute a transition of assets in a deadline driven environment.
Maintain an in-depth knowledge of liquidity terms and requirements for traditional investments and alternative or non-traditional investments that include: hedge funds, private equity/real assets, and commodities.
Provide efficiencies within the team by building a database/library of subscription documents, wire instructions, sample letters, and liquidity terms by client and by investment.
Provide regular feedback to the Operation Analyst Supervisor regarding workflow, problem solving, and policies and procedures to improve consistency and ultimately the clients final results.
Foster and maintain open and clear communication across the Investment Analyst and Performance Analyst Teams regarding the progress of client related capital activity, enabling smooth and efficient communication with the client.
Perform other special projects and activities as requested by the Operations Supervisor and Investment Analyst Manager.

The primary responsibility of the Research Associate is to support lead research analysts in the manager due diligence process, through data retrieval and analysis.
