Jon L. Prime, Principal

  • Cofounded Prime, Buchholz & Associates, Inc. in 1988
  • Formerly, Vice Chairman and founder of the Wellesley Group, Inc., and earlier, Director of Janney Montgomery Scott, Inc. Previously served as Vice President and CFO of Swarthmore College, St. Louis University, and the Rochester Institute of Technology.
  • Mr. Prime has more than 35 years of combined experience in investment consulting, client fund management, and institutional finance.

James R. Buchholz, Principal

  • Cofounded Prime, Buchholz & Associates, Inc. in 1988
  • Formerly, Vice Chancellor of Washington University in St. Louis. Previously served as Vice President of the University of Missouri System, Rochester Institute of Technology, and the American Council of Education.
  • Mr. Buchholz currently serves as a faculty member for the Trustee Seminar on Institutional Finance sponsored by the Association of Governing Boards. He also has served and now serves on a State Community Foundation Board.

William F. McCarron, Principal

  • Joined Prime, Buchholz & Associates, Inc. in 1990
  • Formerly, consultant with New England Pension Consultants, and earlier, Senior Investment Officer of Boston Safe Deposit and Trust responsible for analytical services to major institutional funds. Prior to Boston Safe, Mr. McCarron was a colleague of Mr. Prime at the Wellesley Group and involved in a full range of client services.
  • Mr. McCarron currently serves as a trustee of the Boston Latin School Foundation and chairperson of the investment committee. 

Gregory C. DeSisto, CFA, Principal

  • Previously served at Boston Safe Deposit and Trust as an Operations Officer responsible for analytics information delivery and as a conversion specialist for institutional funds.

  • Formerly, Principal and Practice Leader of the Boston office of William M. Mercer Investment Consulting, Inc. Previously , Vice President of Boston Safe Deposit and Trust, responsible for analytical services.

Ben M. Riordan, Principal

  • Formerly, Senior Vice President with Commonfund, a multi-discipline investment firm with $30 billion in assets serving endowments, foundations and nonprofit organizations.
  • Previous Investment Consultant to banks and insurance companies with Merrill Lynch, and held various management positions with Pitney Bowes, Inc.

Thomas P. Lupone, Principal

  • Joined Prime, Buchholz & Associates, Inc. in 2006
  • Former Vice President, Alternative Capital Division, Credit Suisse; experience ranges across a variety of investment strategies, including U.S. and non-U.S. buyout, venture capital, mezzanine, restructuring, distressed and special situations.
  • Previous role as a private equity research consultant with Cambridge Associates, responsible for analysis and selection of private equity managers and funds.
